DPIIT Partners With Cars24 to Launch National AI-Driven Mobility & Road Safety Incubator

DPIIT and Cars24 have forged a strategic partnership to support AI, smart mobility, and road safety startups through funding, mentorship, and tech challenges.

The Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), operating under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, has announced a joint partnership with auto-tech giant Cars24 to champion startups pioneering artificial intelligence, intelligent mobility, and road-safety technologies across India.

This collaboration aims to address India's pressing road transportation and urban mobility challenges by harnessing cutting-edge AI algorithms, computer vision, and connected vehicle technology developed by domestic founders.

Intent-First Partnership Structure and Program Scope

Under the agreement, the DPIIT-Cars24 Mobility Innovation Challenge will select and incubate 30 high-potential mobility startups each year. Selected ventures will receive equity grant support, direct access to Cars24’s massive proprietary automotive datasets, vehicle testing grounds, and technical mentorship from senior engineering leaders.

Key operational focus areas include real-time driver fatigue monitoring, automated accident detection systems, predictive vehicle health diagnostics, and smart traffic management software designed for Indian road conditions.
