IIM Calcutta Innovation Park and Google for Developers launch a joint initiative enabling AI startups to transform experimental prototypes into market-ready products.

IIM Calcutta Innovation Park (IIMCIP), one of Eastern India’s premier academic incubators, has joined forces with Google for Developers to launch an intensive product-acceleration initiative aimed at transitioning Indian AI startups from raw laboratory experiments into enterprise-grade, market-ready products.

The strategic partnership addresses a critical bottleneck in India’s artificial intelligence ecosystem: while thousands of founders build compelling proof-of-concept (PoC) models, many struggle with latency optimization, model compression, security compliance, and enterprise software scaling.

Intent-First Program Overview and Technical Stack

The new program, titled "AI Product Catalyst 2026", will select 25 growth-stage AI startups per cohort. Participants will receive direct technical guidance from Google AI research engineers, access to Google Cloud Tensor Processing Units (TPUs), Vertex AI infrastructure credits, and business scaling mentorship from IIM Calcutta faculty and venture partners.

Special emphasis will be placed on domain-specific generative AI models, agentic workflows, multi-modal search, and localized natural language processing (NLP) for Indic languages.
