Dhruva Space Raises ₹60 Crore in Funding from Sovereign Space Venture Fund

Hyderabad-based spacetech pioneer Dhruva Space secures ₹60 crore from India's sovereign space fund to scale satellite manufacturing and orbital deployments.

Hyderabad-based spacetech startup Dhruva Space has secured ₹60 crore ($7.2 million) in its latest funding round, led by India's newly established sovereign space venture fund. This investment marks a key milestone for the country's private space industry, highlighting the governmental push to establish domestic satellite and launch capabilities.

Accelerating Orbital Infrastructure

Dhruva Space intends to utilize the fresh capital to expand its assembly, integration, and testing (AIT) facilities in Hyderabad. The company specializes in manufacturing modular satellite platforms, launch deployment systems, and ground station equipment, offering an end-to-end "Space-as-a-Service" model to global commercial and scientific clients.

Indian Spacetech Goes Global

Founded in 2012, Dhruva Space has been a pioneer in the domestic private space ecosystem:
- Proven Launch Record: The company has successfully space-qualified its satellite deployers (such as the DSOD-1U and DSOD-3U) on several ISRO PSLV missions.
- Indigenous Manufacturing: The Hyderabad facility allows local production of solar arrays, satellite structures, and onboard computer systems, reducing dependency on imports.
- Global Export Focus: With international partnerships in Europe and North America, Dhruva Space is positioning itself as a cost-efficient provider of small satellite constellations.

The sovereign space fund's backing is expected to help the company secure critical components and scale production to meet growing launch demands.
