Tech30 Opens Applications for India's Next Breakout Startups

Founders now have a chance to join an elite list that includes Freshworks, Chargebee, Skyroot, Pixxel, and Innovaccer, as Tech30 opens its 2026 applications.

Applications have officially opened for the Tech30 2026, the annual cohort spotlighting India's 30 most promising early-stage technology startups. Known as a kingmaker in the Indian tech ecosystem, the Tech30 list has historically identified high-potential startups long before they became household names.

Previous alumni of this elite group include SaaS giants like Freshworks and Chargebee, spacetech pioneers Skyroot Aerospace and Pixxel, and healthtech unicorn Innovaccer.

The Criteria: Searching for Deep Innovation

As the Indian startup landscape matures, the bar for inclusion in the Tech30 has risen significantly. The selection committee, comprising prominent venture capitalists, tech founders, and industry analysts, will evaluate applications based on: 1. Technological Defensibility: Proprietary IP, deep tech algorithms, or hardware innovations that cannot be easily replicated. 2. Scalability: A clear roadmap to address large addressable markets (TAM), both domestically and globally. 3. Problem Severity: How effectively the startup solves critical friction points in healthcare, agriculture, logistics, clean energy, or software engineering. 4. Founding Team Resilience: The execution capability and domain expertise of the core team.

What Selected Startups Receive

Being named a Tech30 startup offers substantial advantages: * Direct Investor Access: The cohort is presented directly to a curated group of early-stage and growth-stage VCs during a private Demo Day. * Media and Ecosystem Visibility: Feature profiles on top tech news platforms and opportunities to speak at major national tech conferences. * Mentorship and Credits: Technical and scaling mentorship from veteran founders, along with cloud, legal, and operational service credits worth thousands of dollars.

"We aren't just looking for business models that copy Western concepts," says a member of the selection panel. "We are searching for the builders who are solving uniquely Indian problems or creating global deep-tech hardware from India."

Applications will remain open until next month, and the final cohort will be announced at the annual Tech30 Summit in Bangalore.
